The following vendors sell beads specifically designed for fluorescence overlap compensation using fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies supplied by the investigator to stain the beads. The advantage of using compensation beads versus cells for compensation samples is that the same panel of antibodies used for experiment samples are used to stain the beads, eliminating the problems associated with using cells that express low levels of antigen. Beckman Coulter and eBioscience have a single product that accepts a broad range of species. ThermoFisher and Bection Dickinson have products matched to specific species. Becton Dickinson's product requires anti-kappa light chain specific antibodies for staining their beads.
